Do you know? 80% people experience a vacation hangover once they return from a vacation back to their mundane life because they find it either unfulfilling, stressful, or disappointing…
Your long-term happiness depends on your day-to-day ability to find spurts of happiness.
Today, I have got for you five steps that you can follow to create happiness in your everyday life.
1. Set your own happiness level
One of the worst thing you can do is measure your happiness against the happiness of others.
Everyone is unique. If you base your own happiness on imitating others, you will never achieve your goal!
2. Acknowledge what you can control
Trying to control all areas of your life or other people in your life can be quite taxing and detrimental to your wellbeing.
The only actions you can control are your own. Once you accept this, you begin to feel much more at peace with yourself.
3. Focus on your attitude
You could possess everything that you think will make you happy, but if you have a bad attitude, none of these things will work to your advantage.
Before you attempt to resolve a situation, stop and think about the way you are approaching it. If you choose to have a good attitude about a situation, it will be viewed more positively by your mind.
4. Raise your frustration tolerance
Life will throw at you many trivial issues that you can’t control. If you let them make you anxious, you will get frustrated frequently.
All you have to do is to decide to keep yourself from becoming frustrated by the little things that happen. Raising your frustration tolerance can instantly raise your happiness levels.
5. Understand Stress
Stress is a part of everyone’s daily life. The trick of dealing with stress is not to avoid it but rather to understand it.
When you are faced with stressful situation, it is beneficial to accept it. Instead of making judgement about it, realize that its there and focus on ways to deal with it, without hiding/suppressing your feelings and emotions.
Always remember…Your efforts to find happiness may not immediately pay off. Keep working towards your personal happiness….you are capable of achieving it!
Do let me know how you are creating happiness in your daily life….would love to hear your ‘happy stories’….
